Smart Magnetic Wallpaper Installation
Smart Magnetic Wallpaper is an easy to hang writable wallcovering that offers a smooth seamless magnetic surface that is ready to use or paint over in just 48 hours. We recommend professional installation for best results.
This magnetic wallcovering comes pre-primed making it an ideal surface to topcoat with any colour of your choosing. You can even top coat with our dry erase paint in white or clear for a double function wall in white or a colour of your choice.
This magnetic wallpaper is easy to apply and can be hung horizontally, vertically and even on curved rounded walls. We recommend hanging the wallpaper horizontally to facilitate working at eye level.
It is vital that your surface is smooth before application. Really absorbent surfaces, such as new plaster, should be treated with a primer before application. We recommend using our Smart White Primer as it has been tested to work with our wallcoverings.
When your surface is ready, roll the wallpaper out on the floor for measuring and cutting. Measure the wallpaper to the desired length and cut with sharp scissors.
Add 10% water to the ready mixed heavy duty adhesive and stir to ensure a smooth consistency. Apply two coats of this adhesive to the wall with a roller. Allow the first coat of adhesive to become touch dry before applying the second coat of adhesive. You can then hang the magnetic wallcovering.
Once the magnetic wallcovering has been applied you must wait 48 hours before using the surface. A full and much more detailed application guide is available to help you apply our magnetic wallcovering.

Smart Magnetic Wallpaper is very easy to hang and can be hung like any other wallcovering. You can choose to hang the wallpaper horizontally or vertically. We would recommend hanging the wallpaper horizontally to facilitate working at eye level.
What should I use to attach the Smarter Surfaces Magnetic Wallcovering to the wall?
For all our magnetic wallpapers you must use a vinyl over vinyl adhesive such as our Smart Vinyl over Vinyl Adhesive that can be found here.
How soon after application can I use the Smart Magnetic Wallpaper?
Allow 48 hours for the adhesive to fully dry before using the wallcovering.

We discovered Smarter Surfaces products during an office refurb project at Trivallis. Their smart magnetic paint has a seamless finish in our staff breakout areas as dry-wipe whiteboards, although the application does require prep time. Luckily they also offer magnetic wallpaper, which was more practical for us in the end as it was quicker to install with less disruption. The magnetic surface is stronger too and only rises a few millimetres off our walls so they still look good – a great conversation starter for visitors.
