No, Blackboard Paint is black only. If a coloured writable surface is required, we recommend our Clear Whiteboard Paint, which can be applied over any coloured wall.
Application & Usage
What should I do once I've painted my surface with blackboard paint?
Once applied, allow your surface to fully dry for 48 hours, then condition it by rubbing chalk all over the surface and wiping off with a dry cloth or duster.
How many coats of blackboard paint do you need?
Two coats of blackboard paint are required for full coverage and the best possible finish. Allow the first coat to dry completely before applying the second, then leave the surface to cure for 24 hours.
Can you use chalk markers on blackboard paint?
Your blackboard surface can be used like a normal blackboard. You can use standard chalk and blackboard markers to write on your surface. Blackboard markers are wet-erase and can be cleaned off by using a damp cloth.

What preparation is needed for a metal surface?

Do I need to prime the surface before applying Blackboard Paint?
Yes, we recommend applying Blackboard Paint onto a previously primed or painted surface. For uncoated surfaces, we recommend applying two coats of a water-based primer such as White Primer.
What surfaces can Blackboard Paint be applied to?
Blackboard Paint is suitable for plaster, wallboard, wood, metal, plastic and concrete, and can restore old or faded blackboards. For indoor use only.

For everyday maintenance, use a standard blackboard duster to remove chalk markings. Over time, chalk dust may build up on the surface, which can be removed using a damp cloth and clean water. If the blackboard paint has been newly applied, allow it to cure for at least one week before cleaning it with a damp cloth. This helps ensure the surface reaches its full durability and performance.
