Customer Testimonials

See how businesses and home cinema owners are converting ordinary walls into projection surfaces using the specialist paint solutions.

The whiteboard wall paint was extremely easy to apply

The whiteboard wall paint was extremely easy to apply – and the customer service was accessible and helpful so I was delighted to give a review for this whiteboard paint and company! As a teacher you try to present as many different ways as possible to teach a concept and having the extra large dry erase wall helped us to teach concepts, facilitate games and student bonding and write instructions. We have no problem erasing everything with a multi purpose sponge eraser! It has been a HUGE learning tool for our classroom and we are forever grateful.

Turning Complex Workflows into Clear Action

At any one time I work on 8-10 initiatives and your dry erase marker paint has enabled me to better visualize what I need to do. It’s useful for brainstorming and process evaluation, so much so that we’ve recently purchased it for our marketing department. It’s a great fit for our company and a 5 start review for whiteboard paint.

FAQ's

General Product Questions

What is the recommended lighting to use along High Contrast Projector Screen Paint?

With High Contrast Projector Screen Paint, we recommend using low ambient lighting.

Where High Contrast Projector Screen Paint can be used?

Choose High Contrast Projector Paint for gaming, movies, home cinema screen or high contrast projection.

Application & Usage

What surfaces can High Contrast Projector Screen Paint be applied to?

High Contrast Projector Screen Paint is suitable for use on smooth surfaces such as plaster, wallboards, wood, metal, concrete, and composites. It also applies to fabrics and is suitable for painting or refurbishing old screens, but not suitable for roll-up screens. It is intended for interior use only.

Does the High Contrast Projector Screen Paint work with blended projections?

Yes, High Contrast Projector Screen Paint is suitable for blended projections and can help create seamless, immersive displays across a single surface. Its advanced formulation supports the colour accuracy, uniform brightness, and light diffusion needed to achieve smooth transitions between multiple projected images.

For large-scale projection applications, it also eliminates the need for expensive physical screens, providing a more flexible and cost-effective solution. This allows multiple projections to blend effectively, creating a cohesive viewing experience.

Surface Prep & Priming

Do I need to prime the surface before applying High Contrast Projector Screen Paint?

Yes, we recommend applying High Contrast Projector Screen Paint onto a previously primed or painted surface. Prime bare, untreated surfaces with one coat of White Primer.

Cleaning & Maintenance

How can I clean my High Contrast Projector Screen Paint screen?

Your surface can be wiped clean with a regular dry or slightly damp cloth in a dabbing motion.

How do I remove the paint from my skin?

In case of contact with skin, rinse skin with warm soapy water.

What do I do if I spill the paint?

Clean up with warm soapy water.

Functionality & Performance

Why are the Projection Paints Acoustically Transparent?

Projection Paints are acoustically transparent because they do not affect the sound absorption performance of the surface they are applied to. Testing on 12mm gypsum board showed identical Sound Absorption Coefficient (SAC) values of α = 0.04–0.07 for both unpainted and painted boards.

Since there is no measurable difference between the sound absorption of the unpainted and painted surfaces, sound can pass through the painted surface in the same way as the original board. This confirms that Smarter Surfaces Projection Paints maintain the acoustic properties of the substrate while providing a high-quality projection surface.

How is High Contrast Projector Screen Paint ‘Polarity Preserving’?

3D projectors work by projecting two slightly different images that overlap on the screen. These images are passed through special optical filters, which results in the light being polarised in a different way for each of the projections. When you view the two images through special 3D glasses, each lens blocks one of the images, meaning that your left eye sees one image and your right eye the other image.

It's therefore really important that the light grey projector screen you use does not change the polarity of the light if you are using a 3D projector. All of Smarter Surfaces paint products are "polarity preserving" which means that the image you see will be exactly the same polarity as is intended, preserving the full 3D effect.

Does the High Contrast Projector Screen Paint work well with both 2D and 3D Projectors?

Our entire range of paints is compatible with both 2D and 3D projectors, ensuring optimal performance regardless of the projection mode. When projecting a 3D image onto the paint, it seamlessly delivers the intended effect, creating an immersive viewing experience when paired with 3D glasses.

Safety & Environmental

Is High Contrast Projector Screen Paint safe to use and apply around people?

Yes, High Contrast Projector Screen Paint is completely safe to use and apply around adults and children. It is low VOC, low odour, solvent free, PFOA and PFOS free, and contains no isocyanates. The paint meets high environmental standards and is designed for safe indoor use. As with any paint product, we recommend wearing the gloves supplied in the kit during application and ensuring the area is adequately ventilated while painting.

Is High Contrast Projector Screen Paint isocyanate free?

High Contrast Projector Screen Paint is 100% free of Isocyanates. Unlike some poorer quality products on the market we do not use isocyanates in the High Contrast Projector Screen Paint or any of Smarter Surfaces products which is a hazardous product and should only be used by trained professionals using rigorous safety procedures.

What personal protective equipment should I use when painting?

Use the gloves supplied in the kit while applying High Contrast Projector Screen Paint. In addition, safety glasses should be worn. As with any painting process, ensure the room is ventilated.

Is High Contrast Projector Screen Paint flammable?

High Contrast Projector Screen Paint is not flammable and is certified for fire performance making it certified for use in schools and offices. High Contrast Projector Screen Paint has a very high flashpoint above 158 degrees fahrenheit.
