How to Apply Transparent Primer Paint

Follow these steps to create a smooth, fully sealed surface that is ready for any topcoat or specialist coating.

Step 1 - Surface Preparation

Clean the surface and lightly sand. Remove all dust and loose material before starting.

Step 2 - Apply First Coat

Roll on an even coat of primer & allow 2 to 4 hours of drying time. Lightly sand once dry.

Step 3 - Add Second Coat

Apply a second coat to seal the surface fully. Sand lightly again if a finer finish is required.

Step 4 - Extra Coats if Needed

Plaster or bare wood may require one or more additional coats with light sanding

Step 5 - Finish with Topcoat

Once the surface is fully dry and smooth, apply your chosen paint or specialist coating.
